Contact dgdroid
Ask a question about degoogling your phone, report a wrong fact or a dead link, or suggest a phone for our list. Write to us with the contact form.
Send us a message
Use the form to contact dgdroid. It goes straight to the people who write and check this site, and we read every message. Questions and corrections are the two things we get most, and both are welcome. You don’t need an account, and you don’t need to tell us your name. An email address we can reply to is enough.
What to write to us about
- Questions about your phone. Not sure whether your model can run GrapheneOS, LineageOS or /e/OS? Start with the ten-second phone lookup. If the answer there is unclear or your model is missing, tell us the exact model name and number (for example “Pixel 8a, GKV4X”) and where you bought it. Carrier-locked phones often behave differently from the unlocked version, so that detail matters.
- Corrections. If a fact on this site is wrong, out of date, or a link is dead, please tell us which page and what you saw. Include a link to an official source if you have one, such as the project’s install page or a maker’s spec sheet. We check the source, fix the page, and note the date on it. Corrections get priority over everything else in the inbox.
- App questions. If an app you rely on won’t run without Google, name the app and the system you use. We keep the list of Google app replacements current, and reader reports are how we learn that a banking app started (or stopped) working.
- Suggestions. A phone, accessory or private app we should look at, or a guide you wish existed. We can’t promise coverage, but every suggestion goes onto our list.
- Business and press. Small businesses moving a team to private phones, journalists, and makers: put “Business” or “Press” at the start of the subject so it reaches the right person faster.
What we can’t do
We’re a small team, so a few things are out of reach. We can’t repair or flash a phone for you, and we can’t recover data from a device. We won’t guess at an answer about a specific model when the official project says nothing; we’ll say so and point you to the project’s own forum or chat instead. That honest “we don’t know” is more useful than a confident wrong answer that leaves you with a phone that won’t boot.
We also don’t accept payment for coverage. Sending us money, a free phone or a discount code won’t change a score or put a product on a list. How we rate and how this site earns money are explained on our trust and methods page and in the notes on how affiliate links work here.
Before you send
A few details make the reply faster and more useful:
- The exact phone model and model number, from Settings → About phone.
- The system and version you run now, such as stock Android 15 or GrapheneOS 2026101000.
- What you tried, what you expected, and what actually happened. An error message copied word for word helps a lot.
- The page on dgdroid.com you were reading, if your message is about one of our pages.
Please write in plain text. The form refuses HTML and allows at most three links, which keeps spam out of the inbox. Don’t send passwords, unlock codes, recovery phrases or bank details. We will never ask for them, and you should treat anyone who does as a scam.
How the form protects you and us
The form has no captcha, so no third-party company watches you type. Instead, our own server checks each message: it needs a short-lived code your browser gets when the page loads, it limits how many messages one connection can send in an hour and a day, and it blocks the tricks bots use to hijack forms and send mail to other people. Nothing you type is ever run as code.
Your message is emailed to us with your address as the reply address, so our answer comes from a person, not a ticket system. We also keep a copy on our own web host for 90 days, then delete it automatically. That copy is there only so a message isn’t lost if the mail server has a bad day. We never add contact form addresses to the weekly email, never share them, and never sell them. The privacy policy section on the contact form lists exactly what we store.
When to expect an answer
We answer within two business days, usually sooner. If a correction is confirmed, the page is updated, and we reply to tell you it’s fixed. If you haven’t heard back after three days, check your spam folder first, then send a short follow-up through the form.
Frequently asked questions
Can I write in a language other than English? Yes. English gets the fastest answer, but we’ll translate other languages and reply in English unless you ask otherwise.
Do you answer questions about phones you don’t list? Yes, as far as the official sources allow. If a private system supports your model, we’ll point you to its install page. If none does, we’ll suggest the hardening steps that work on any Android phone.
Can I ask you to delete my message? Yes. Send a short note from the same email address and we’ll delete it, including the stored copy, before the 90 days are up.
