Which non-Pixel phones have official OS builds?

A practical guide to official degoogled OS support beyond Pixels, covering Fairphone, OnePlus, Xperia, Volla, Jolla, and Pine64 options.

Which non-Pixel phones have official OS builds?

Which non-Pixel phones have official OS builds? The answer is broader than one brand, but support varies sharply by operating system and model. Some familiar Android phones have builds from several projects, while dedicated hardware from Murena, Jolla, Volla, Pine64, and Purism offers another route.

The important distinction is between a phone whose bootloader can be unlocked and one for which a project actually publishes a build. Nothing Phone 3 and 3a demonstrate the difference: their bootloaders unlock, but GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, LineageOS, and /e/OS did not ship official builds for either model as of September 2026.

Fairphone, SHIFT, and Motorola choices

Fairphone has some of the clearest non-Pixel coverage across the researched projects. CalyxOS supports Fairphone 4 and lists Fairphone Gen 6 beta. iodéOS covers Fairphone 3 through 5, while Ubuntu Touch supports Fairphone 4 and 5. This makes Fairphone relevant to readers who want to compare more than one supported system before choosing a model.

SHIFTphone 8 is on the CalyxOS device table under the codename otter. It is a focused option for someone who specifically wants that CalyxOS pairing rather than the widest selection of operating systems.

Motorola buyers also have a concrete CalyxOS list: moto g 5G 2024, g84, g45, g34, g52, g42, and g32. iodéOS additionally covers moto g32, g42, and g52. Those three models therefore give a buyer at least two listed project options in this research.

GrapheneOS is not an option for any of these phones. Its official production support remains limited to Google Pixels from the 6 through 10 series, including the Pixel 10a and Pixel Fold. A Motorola partnership was announced, but no supported Motorola device had shipped as of September 2026.

OnePlus, Nothing, and Sony coverage

OnePlus has substantial current coverage. /e/OS supports the OnePlus 13, 13R, 12, and 12R, while LineageOS has official builds for the OnePlus 13 and 12. iodéOS covers the OnePlus 9, and Ubuntu Touch supports the older OnePlus 6 and 6T. The best fit therefore depends on both the exact generation and the operating system wanted.

Nothing support stops before the newest generation. /e/OS covers Nothing Phone (1)/(2) + CMF Phone 1, and Ubuntu Touch supports Nothing Phone (1). The verified LineageOS coverage is limited to Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2); there is still no official LineageOS build for Phone 3. Anyone considering Phone 3 or 3a should treat it as a phone with no official build from the four major projects checked above, not as an already supported degoogled model.

Sony Xperia offers a different spread. /e/OS has broad coverage across Xperia 1 II through V, Xperia 5 II through V, and Xperia 10 through 10 V. LineageOS includes Xperia 1 V and 10 V. iodéOS lists Xperia 1 V and 5 V, while Sailfish X supports Xperia 10 II through IV. Current Ubuntu Touch support does not include Xperia phones; earlier Xperia support belonged to its legacy 16.04 era.

Dedicated and alternative hardware

Some options are built around vendors or projects outside the usual mainstream phone list. Murena One and Murena Two are the hardware pair associated with /e/OS. Jolla C2 is the native Sailfish OS choice. Volla X23, Quintus, 22, Plinius, and Tablet appear in the Ubuntu Touch catalog.

For readers specifically considering postmarketOS, the conservative verified list contains PinePhone/Pro and Purism Librem 5. The project wiki was unreachable during the research because of its anti-bot system, so the directory intentionally avoids claiming broader support from that source.

Older Samsung models also remain represented: iodéOS lists Galaxy S9 and S10. By contrast, the researched LineageOS list contains no Galaxy S24 or S25 builds. Poco buyers have official LineageOS choices in the F5 and F6.

How to choose a supported model

  1. Pick the operating system first if its features or approach are your priority. Then limit the phone search to models explicitly listed for that project.
  2. Match the complete model name and generation. OnePlus 13 support does not imply every OnePlus model is supported, and Nothing Phone (2) support does not extend to Phone 3.
  3. Note the support status. Fairphone Gen 6 is beta on CalyxOS, while the other listed pairings may be presented without that beta label.
  4. If installation convenience matters, consider iodéOS: the research records an easy installer alongside support for selected Pixels, Fairphones, Xperia phones, Motorola models, OnePlus 9, and Galaxy S9/S10.
  5. Recheck before acting. The device research is scheduled for quarterly verification, with the next review around December 2026.
