The OnePlus 13 is OnePlus’s January 2025 flagship, built on the Snapdragon 8 Elite with a 6.82-inch 120 Hz LTPO screen, a 6,000 mAh battery and three 50 MP rear cameras. It ships with OxygenOS 15, which comes with Google services.

For a privacy buyer, what stands out is software support. LineageOS lists the OnePlus 13 (codename dodge) as an official device with nightly LineageOS 24.0 builds based on Android 17. iodéOS lists it as officially supported, with its installer and bundled firmware. /e/OS also publishes community builds for it. OnePlus phones unlock with a plain fastboot command, with no unlock code to request and no waiting period.

The trade-off is security posture and some extra risk. None of these OSes let you relock the bootloader, so the phone does not get the verified-boot protection a relocked Pixel has on GrapheneOS. Reports from January 2026 also describe an anti-rollback fuse on newer OnePlus 13 firmware, which makes flashing older builds dangerous. Read the current firmware notes before you start, and check that your model number is on the LineageOS or iodéOS list. Expect banking apps that check Play Integrity to behave differently than on stock.

  • LineageOS: Official nightlies (latest dated Oct 11, 2026) for model numbers CPH2649, CPH2653, CPH2655 and PJZ110; the phone must be on stock Android 15/16 firmware before you install.
  • iodéOS: On iodé's official list with installer support, VoLTE/VoWiFi, 5G and firmware included; the bootloader cannot be relocked afterwards.
  • /e/OS: Listed on e Foundation's device page as a 'community' release (September 2026 patch level), built by the /e/OS Build Team; bootloader not relockable.

Not available for this model

  • GrapheneOS: GrapheneOS only supports Google Pixel phones.
  • CalyxOS: Not on CalyxOS's device list as of Oct 2026 (Pixels, Fairphone, SHIFTphone 8 and some moto g models only).
  • Nura (postmarketOS): postmarketOS lists the OnePlus 13 only as a non-packaged, early port; not usable as a daily phone OS.

Unlocking the bootloader on the OnePlus 13

Yes. OnePlus uses the standard Android fastboot unlock with no code or waiting period; it takes a few minutes and wipes the phone.

  1. Back up your data; unlocking erases the phone.
  2. Settings > About device > tap the build number 7 times to open Developer options.
  3. In Developer options, turn on OEM unlocking and USB debugging.
  4. Connect to a computer with adb/fastboot and run 'adb -d reboot bootloader'.
  5. Run 'fastboot flashing unlock', confirm on the phone with the volume and power keys.
  6. Let it reboot and re-enable USB debugging before flashing.
Before you start
  • Anti-rollback: reports from January 2026 say ColorOS/OxygenOS 16 builds ending .500/.501/.503 blow a fuse on the OnePlus 13, and flashing older firmware or ROMs built on it can hard-brick the phone. OnePlus said it would restore downgrades; check current status before flashing anything older.
  • Check your model number first: LineageOS and iodéOS require an exact match (CPH2649, CPH2653, CPH2655 or PJZ110).
  • Do not relock the bootloader with a custom OS installed; LineageOS, iodéOS and /e/OS all list it as not relockable.
  • Remove your Google account before unlocking to avoid Factory Reset Protection lockouts.

How to install a private OS on the OnePlus 13

Short versions of each project's official guide. Always keep the official page open while you work: it has the exact files for your model and changes faster than any summary.

Installing LineageOSAdvanced · fastboot and recovery

What you need: A computer with Android platform-tools (adb and fastboot) installed, a USB cable, and an evening. Follow the install page for your exact codename. Installing erases the phone.

Apps: No Google services by default; you add microG or Google apps yourself if you want them. Bootloader: Usually no: the bootloader stays unlocked on most devices.

  1. Find your phone's page on the LineageOS wiki by its codename and read the whole install guide once before you start.
  2. Make sure the stock firmware is the version the guide asks for, then unlock the bootloader the brand's official way.
  3. Flash the partitions the guide lists (such as boot, dtbo or vendor_boot) and boot into Lineage Recovery.
  4. In recovery, choose Factory reset → Format data, then Apply update → Apply from ADB, and run adb sideload with the LineageOS zip.
  5. Reboot. Add F-Droid for apps; skip the optional Google apps package if you want to stay degoogled.
On the OnePlus 13Update the stock OS to an Android 15 or 16 build first, then follow the wiki's dodge guide, which also covers flashing newer vendor firmware later.

Updates: Weekly community builds; security patch level depends on the device's vendor code. Official instructions: LineageOS device wiki.

Installing iodéOSEasy · official installer app

What you need: A Windows, macOS or Linux computer, a USB cable and the iodé installer app. Installing erases the phone.

Apps: microG, plus a built-in tracker and ad blocker you can tune per app. Bootloader: On some devices; check iodé's device list.

  1. Check that your exact model is on iodé's supported device list.
  2. Download the iodé installer for your computer.
  3. Turn on Developer options, USB debugging and OEM unlocking on the phone, then connect it.
  4. Follow the installer step by step; it downloads the right build and flashes it.
  5. Set up the phone and look at the blocker settings in the iodé app.
On the OnePlus 13The iodé installer (Windows/Linux) supports the OnePlus 13 and ships firmware with the OS, so it is the simplest path on this model.

Updates: Monthly from iodé. Official instructions: official iodéOS installer.

Installing /e/OSEasy · installer app, or preinstalled

What you need: For a phone you already own: a Windows, macOS or Linux computer and a USB cable. The Easy Installer covers many models; others use a command-line guide on the device's page. Installing erases the phone.

Apps: microG built in, plus the App Lounge store that shows each app's trackers. Bootloader: stays unlocked with this build.

  1. Look up your exact model on the /e/OS device list and check whether it supports the Easy Installer.
  2. Download the Easy Installer (or the build and guide from the device page) on your computer.
  3. Turn on Developer options, USB debugging and OEM unlocking on the phone, and connect it.
  4. Follow the installer's screens: it unlocks, flashes /e/OS and, where possible, relocks the bootloader.
  5. Set up the phone. A Murena account is optional; you can skip it.
On the OnePlus 13Install manually with the command-line guide on the /e/OS dodge page; the build is a 'community' release with userdebug build variant.

Updates: Monthly from the /e/ Foundation; Murena phones update over the air. Official instructions: /e/OS device list and install guides.

Who the OnePlus 13 is for

A buyer who wants a current flagship and more than one well-maintained private OS to choose from. It suits people comfortable with fastboot who accept an unlocked bootloader in exchange for LineageOS or iodéOS on fast hardware.

OnePlus 13 questions, answered

Can the OnePlus 13 run LineageOS?

Yes. The OnePlus 13 (dodge) is an official LineageOS device with LineageOS 24.0 (Android 17) nightlies as of October 2026. Your phone must be one of the listed model numbers and on stock Android 15 or 16 firmware first.

Does the OnePlus 13 need an unlock code?

No. You enable OEM unlocking in Developer options and run 'fastboot flashing unlock'. The process wipes the phone, so back up first.

Can I relock the bootloader after installing a private OS?

Not with LineageOS, iodéOS or /e/OS on this model; all three list the bootloader as not relockable. Relocking with a custom OS installed can leave the phone unbootable.
